Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the closed session titled “Effective and Efficient Use of Geothermal Energy: Sector Goals, Challenges, and Solution Proposals”, organized within the 11th Energy Efficiency Forum and Fair by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye.
The session brought together key stakeholders including Deputy Ministers Mr. Abdullah Tancan and Mr. Nevzat Şatıroğlu, representatives from MTA, MAPEG, JED, JESDER, JEMYAD and senior executives from across the geothermal sector along with distinguished representatives from academia. We discussed challenges and solutions for direct and integrated uses of geothermal energy, sharing valuable insights for the future.

I sincerely thank the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and Deputy Ministers Mr. Tancan and Mr. Şatıroğlu for organizing this impactful event. With a geothermal potential capable of meeting Türkiye’s entire energy demand, we are fortunate both geographically and institutionally to collaborate in unlocking the full value of this domestic and renewable resource.
