Erik Layman join Ignis Energy team as Technical Advisor

ignis H2 Energy Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Erik Layman to its Technical Advisory Team.

Erik developed the resource concept for Ignis’ California opportunity and will play an essential role in developing this project into a geothermal 24/7 baseload energy producer that allows California to progress on the commitment of 100% renewable energy by 2045.

Erik has over 35 years of experience in the geothermal industry in the U.S. and overseas. His work focuses on geoscientific studies of geothermal reservoirs, geothermal resource assessment and management of exploration and development of geothermal projects. He has held technical and management positions in the geothermal divisions of Chevron and CalEnergy (now MidAmerican Energy).

As Exploration Manager for Chevron, he managed all geoscientific work for the initial exploration drilling program at the Darajat project in West Java, Indonesia. As Geothermal Resource Manager for CalEnergy, he directed the resource development program for the Dieng, Patuha and Bali projects (Indonesia). His responsibilities included targeting, drilling, and assessment of 35 production test wells and 28 deep temperature gradient boreholes at the three projects, and management of up to 6 rigs. Under his direct supervision, this program achieved 271 MW of steam at the wellhead from the three projects, and delineated sufficient energy reserves to achieve closure for US $520 million in project financing.
