Ignis at the Capitol: Danny Rehg’s Washington Engagements

Ignis H2 Energy VP of Operations Danny Rehg made two trips to Washington, D.C. this spring, representing the company at the intersection of geothermal policy, federal advocacy, and international industry development.

Geothermal Capitol Hill Day — April 28–30, 2026

Danny joined engineers, industry executives, and energy advocates in Washington for Geothermal Capitol Hill Day 2026, a focused advocacy event bringing the geothermal industry directly to federal decision-makers. Over three days, participants engaged Congressional offices, made the case for geothermal’s role in a reliable clean energy grid, and worked to shape the policies that will define the sector’s trajectory.

For Ignis, the visit was an opportunity to put geothermal’s core strengths front and center on Capitol Hill — firm, dispatchable power capable of supporting grid reliability, industrial electrification, and the surging electricity demand driven by data centers and advanced manufacturing. Danny’s conversations spanned geothermal development, federal permitting reform, transmission access, and energy security, reinforcing Ignis’s position as an active voice in the federal policy process.

DOE Americas Industry Forum – May 17, 2026

Danny also participated in a U.S. Department of Energy event focused on strengthening geothermal partnerships across the Americas. The forum, organized through Geothermal Rising and open by invitation to a select group of U.S.-based companies, was designed to connect industry participants with government and regional stakeholders — whether companies already active in Latin America looking to deepen existing relationships, or those exploring the region for the first time.

Ignis joined the event as part of its broader effort to position the company within emerging geothermal markets in the Western Hemisphere, engaging with international dignitaries and peer organizations around shared interests in energy development, regional energy security, and clean power deployment.

A Pattern of Engagement

Taken together, the two trips reflect a consistent approach: Ignis shows up where geothermal policy is being made and where the industry’s future partnerships are being formed. Danny’s presence in Washington — across Capitol Hill, federal agencies, and international forums — ensures Ignis remains a recognized and credible voice as the geothermal sector scales.
